Knitting in the Heartland is thrilled to bring Edie Eckman and Franklin Habit to the Kansas City area. We also have a host of talented local teachers which means a diverse selection of clases this year. Due to previous student requests, we have expanded offerings this year to include a bit of crochet, a bit of spinning, and a lot of fun--there's something for every skill level, from beginner to expert. We even have a needle tatting class!

There will be a keynote presentation on Friday, April 20th from 6:30 - 7:30. For keynote attendees only, we plan to have book signings afterwards as well as a vendor market sneak peak until 9pm.

Class sessions are Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9am-noon and 1:30pm to 4:30pm. See class descriptions and registration for more information.

The vendor market is free to the public and showcases regional vendors from large knitting shops to independent spinners and dyers. The vendor market will be open Saturday from 8:30am to 5:30pm and Sunday from 8:30 to 4:30pm. Outside of the market is a lobby with comfortable chairs and plenty of room to socialize and knit. There is also access to the nearby walking trails if the weather behaves.

Knitting in the Heartland (KITH) is a biennial weekend conference that celebrates knitting and the Kansas City metro area's knitting community.  The event includes a variety of exciting classes featuring local and internationally recognized knitting instructors.  A free vendor market brings together fiber artists and yarn shops from around the Midwest.  The Sunflower Knitters' Guild has sponsored this event for over 15 years.
